WHO I AM

Gradygirl Productions, Inc. is a full service professional television, film and video production company. Founded in 1997 by Tonia Grady (aka- Gradygirl), is an award-winning former CNN producer. Gradygirl specializes in viral video, commercials, event coverage, celebrity interviews (red carpet), tailored news pieces, corporate videos, show development and production of original non-scripted and non-scripted (reality) programming.

Tonia Grady has over 15 years of live broadcast television experience as well as an abundance of video and film production knowledge. Tonia Grady aka Gradygirl is a seasoned television producer, filmmaker, director and writer. Gradygirl didn’t earn a broadcast journalism degree from a prestigious film school, she learned the old-fashion way…hands on experience working with the best in the business. “Interning, working for credit and volunteering on any and every television and film project that would have me -- is how I learned this business”, says Tonia Grady.

In 1996 Tonia moved to Atlanta, GA and created a variety entertainment talk show called The Red Room that aired in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. After blazing the air waves for four years, Tonia had become arguably one of Atlanta's favorite local TV host and socialite. The Red Room was the first cable access television show to garner interviews with celebrities like Sean "Puffy" Combs, TLC, Kirk Franklin, Ludacris, Steve Harvey and Jamie Foxx. The show aired weekly in primetime on Comcast Cable (formerly Media One) with a reach of over 750,000 households. After a lot of hard work and support from loyal fans, Ms. Grady successfully moved the show from cable access to paid programming.

In addition to launching her own show, Grady honed her production skills at top companies including: Fox Sports Net South, Media One and DreamWorks. But it was her talk show that landed Ms. Grady a coveted position as a Field Producer at CNN Financial News. Then she moved over to the flagship network CNN and showcased her producing chops. There, she worked on CNN's Daily live news programs and feature shows like, "CNN Live Today", "Wolf Blitzer" and "Inside Politics". Her work during the CNN coverage on September 11, 2001 garnered her a very special certificate of honor from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

In 2009 Tonia Grady directed and produced her first documentary, Man Up: The Exploration of a Fatherless Nation. The documentary film has received several awards and has been screened and celebrated in over 30 cities and 5 countries. Ms. Grady’s film and work with national fatherhood groups have made her a public figure in this fight to encourage responsible fatherhood and parenting. In addition to building her production company, “Gradygirl Productions, Inc.”. Tonia has speaking engagements at probate courts, public schools, national responsible fatherhood conferences, Planned Parenthood centers, prisons and various social programs.
